Thinking of the artwork as a laborer’s work and the bodies socially allowed to inhabit these environments of creation and force are central points in Carapiá’s investigation. From working with iron, her artistic production occurs at the intersection of language, conflict, geography, and their various narratives. Her research interests materialize into sculptures, copper on canvas, drawings, installations, engravings, texts, and objects.
In line with the studies of the body in transit and its belonging in the world, Carapiá offers a valuable critical reflection on the debates involving issues related to gender, environmental racism, as well as the power relations between discourse and the word. Thus, Rebeca Carapiá’s production establishes itself in a *cosmology with the territories she travels through, making her work the house that holds the memory of the water.
